Border Roads Organization (BRO) Multi Skilled Worker (Painter), Multi Skilled Worker (Waiter), Vehicle Mechanic, and Driver Mech. Transport (OG) posts Selection Process 2021-22:

The selection is made strictly as per merit as per availability of vacancies; on the basis of marks in the written exam and qualifying in the Physical Efficiency Test and Practical Test as applicable to the particular trades.

1. Written Exam. The question paper will be answered in blue/black ballpoint pen only. No work in pencil is allowed. Any disclosure of identity on the answer sheet will render the candidate disqualified. The syllabus for the written examination will generally be in conformity with the educational standards and/or technical and other requisite essential qualifications prescribed for the posts. The questions will be of objective type or subjective type or objective and subjective both as per the syllabus and those subjects covered as part of minimum educational/technical qualification for the post. The question paper will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi and the duration of the examination may vary from 1hrs to 3hrs depending upon the trade. The objective type Questions will be OMR-based and subjective questions have to be answered in the answer sheet.
2. Minimum passing marks for UR, EWSs & OBC category is 50%, and for SC & ST category is 40%.
3. Physical Efficiency Test. Candidates will undergo physical efficiency test based on the call letter issued and candidates who qualify in the physical test will only be allowed to attend the further practical test as applicable to the post.
4. Practical / Trade Test. Candidates will undergo the Practical / Trade test wherever applicable and those who qualify in the Practical / Trade Test will only be considered for the final merit list based on marks in the written exam.

1. Multi Skilled Worker Painter:
(a) Cutting of Stencils
(b) Letter writing of English and Hindi alphabets & numerals of a specific size (c) Making of drawings
(d) Questions on painting & polishing/varnishing of wood (e) Knowledge of different types of paints
(f) Preparation & storage of paints & varnishes (g) General Knowledge
2. Multi Skilled Worker Mess Waiter:
(a) Handling & identification of different types of crockery (b) Maint of Room (c) Foodservice etiquettes
(d) Beverage service etiquettes (e) General Knowledge
3. Vehicle Mechanic:
(a) Operations of petrol/diesel engines (b) Checking of faults (c) Repair & maintenance of the engine
(d) Repair & Maintenance of fuel system (e) Repair & Maintenance of brake system (f) Repair & Maintenance of the clutch system (g) Repair & Maintenance of chassis (h) General Knowledge
4. Driver Mechanical Transport (Ordinary Grade): (a) Maintenance of heavy/light vehicle (b) Use of Oilers/lubricants (c) Daily / periodic checking (d) Tyre rotation (e) Road signs (f) Traffic Rules (g) Use of Tools (h) General knowledge
Practical Test/Skill Test. Trade test is conducted at GREF Centre or any other center, minimum of 40% marks are required to qualify and is applicable for following posts:
1. Multi Skilled Worker Painter:
(a) Mixing of paints
(b) Preparation of surface for painting
(c) Polishing/vanishing
(d) Identification of brushes as peruse
(e) Removal of old paint
2. Multi Skilled Worker Mess Waiter:
(a) Beverage serving etiquette
(b) Food serving etiquettes
(c) Use of different types of crockery/cutlery
(d) Laying out a dining table for various occasions
(e) Preparation of bed
(f) Identification of food/beverage
3. Vehicle Mechanic:
(a) Identification of engine parts
(b) Identification of parts of the transmission system
(c) Identification of parts of fuel system
(d) Identification of different Lubricants/oils
(e) Identification of tools, eqpets
4. Driver Mechanical Transport (Ordinary Grade):
(a) Maneuvering of the slope without slipping
(b) Driving of vehs on a driving track (‘8’)
(c) Reverse parking
