SBI Circle Based Officer (CBO) Exam Pattern & Syllabus:
Selection Process & Exam Pattern: The selection process consists of Online Written tests, Screening, and interviews. Online Written Test:
The online written tests will consist of Objective Tests for 120 marks and Descriptive Tests for 50 marks. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after the conclusion of the Objective Test and candidates will have to type their Descriptive Test answers on the computer.
(i) Objective Test: The duration of the objective test is 2 hours and it consists of 4 Sections of a total of 120 marks. There will be separate timing for every section.
I – English Language – No. of Qs 30 – 30 Marks – Duration – 30 minutes
II – Banking Knowledge No. of Qs 40 – 40 Marks – Duration – 40 minutes
III – General Awareness/ Economy No. of Qs 30 – 30 Marks – Duration – 30 minutes
IV – Computer Aptitude No. of Qs 20 – 20 Marks – Duration – 20 minutes
Total – 120 Question – 120 Marks – Duration – 2 hours.
(ii) Descriptive Test: The duration of the Descriptive Test is 30 minutes. It will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) with two questions for a total of 50 marks.
Merit list will be drawn State wise and Category wise on the basis of the aggregate marks scored in the Online Written Test. There will be no sectional qualifying marks. Candidates numbering up to 3 times (approx.) of the State wise and Category wise vacancies will be
shortlisted for Screening from the top of the merit list drawn on State wise and Category wise subject to a candidate scoring the minimum aggregate qualifying score, as decided by the Bank.
Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There will be no penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests.
Sectional Marks will not be maintained for Online Written examinations.
Final Selection – The candidates will have to qualify both in Online Written Test and Interview separately. The marks obtained in Online Written Test, both in the Objective Test and the Descriptive Test, will be added to the marks obtained in the Interview for preparing the final merit list. The final merit list would be prepared based on the normalization of marks scored in the Online Written Test and Interview with 75:25 weightage respectively.
